New Portals on the Ayush Sector
- CTRI (Clinical Trial Registry of India), RMIS (Research Management Information System), SAHI (Showcase of Ayurveda Historical Imprints), AMAR (Ayush Manuscripts Advanced Repository), and e-Medha are the five new Ayush Sector portals that have been developed (electronic Medical Heritage Accession).
- Traditional and unconventional systems of medicine and healing, such as Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, unani, siddha, sowa-rigpa, and homoeopathy, are referred to as “ayush.”
Key Points
New Portals:
- The World Health Organization’s International Clinical Trials Registry platform uses the Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI) as its primary Register of Clinical Trials.
- The development of an ayurvedic data set in the CTRI makes it easier to record clinical studies based on ayurvedic therapies.
- Research that examines novel procedures and therapies and assesses how they affect patient outcomes is known as clinical study.
- A one-stop shop for research and development in Ayurveda-based studies is the Research Management Information System (RMIS).
- Showcase of Ayurveda Historical Imprints (SAHI): This exhibit features ancient literature, sculptures, inscriptions, archeo-botanical information, and advanced archeo-genetic investigations.
- Understanding the Indian Knowledge System with an emphasis on indigenous medical practices would be greatly aided by it.
- Ayush Manuscripts Advanced Repository (AMAR) has digitized information on uncommon and difficult-to-find manuscripts and catalogues of ayurveda, yoga, unani, siddha, and sowa rigpa found in libraries or in private collections throughout India or other countries.
- Through the NIC’s (National Informatics Centre) e-granthalaya platform, e-Medha (electronic Medical Heritage Accession) provides an online public access catalog for more than 12000 Indian medical heritage literature.
e-Granthalaya is a digital platform created by NIC enabling government libraries to automate internal processes, provide member services, and connect users to share resources.
