Both anthropology and sociology study about humans. But there are huge differences between these two branches. We can analyze the differences between anthropology and sociology.

Anthropology takes the individual level study of human behavior. Sociology studies the behavior of a group of humans, a society, institutions.

Anthropology studies the human diversity and the cultural differences between the human races. While sociology takes social problems in society and solutions for fixing or solving them.

Anthropology goes in a micro level of individual analysis of culture and behavior. Where sociology takes a macro approach of study of culture of a society or community. It includes political, religious and educational institutions in the study.

Anthropology uses qualitative research method namely Ethnography for researches. But sociology uses both qualitative and quantitative methods for research. Hence sociology uses surveys and sampling methods for study.

Anthropology deals with the journey of human as an individual from past to present and to future. Sociology deals with the collective behavior and social relationship in a society or cluster.

Anthropology focuses on culture, archeology, language, biology, behaviorism of humans and the changes happens to these with time changes. While sociology focuses on social nature, structure and bond between humans.

An anthropologist studies the evolution of mankind and changes in culture, rituals, traditions, beliefs and the way of living. A sociologist studies social issues relating to race, creed, castes, crime, communities, gender in a family, community, institution, political, religious and country level.

To conclude anthropology closely studies the evolution of humans to the present through changes in behavior, culture and tradition. Where sociology focuses on behavior of group of humans and the causes and impact of such behaviors.

There are different ways and approaches for both Sociology and Anthropology. Both subjects are unique and excelled in their aspects. Therefore, comparison can only be done up to an extent only. Both subjects are wide in their aspects and interesting as well.
