Tribal Atlas”(Tribal Atlas of Jharkhand)
- Chief Minister Raghubar Das released the “Tribal Atlas” (The TRIBAL ATLAS OF JHARKHAND) by the Tribal Research Institute Jharkhand at the Ministry of Jharkhand.
- On the occasion, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that it is a matter of great pleasure that “Tribal Atlas” is being published by Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Tribal Welfare Research Institute Ranchi, and Scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department.
- The Chief Minister said that the availability of atlas in the form of data, graphs, maps etc. related to all the tribal communities of Jharkhand is very important. He said that these information will be utilised in the future in the formulation and implementation of tribal schemes, research work and other studies.
- Chief Minister Raghubar Das expressed his best wishes for the success and popularity of the publication of “Tribal Atlas”.
- On this occasion, Minister Dr. Lewis Marandi said that the collection of data related to social, cultural, economic demographics of all tribal communities in the state of Jharkhand is very important and beneficial. This publication will definitely help in the formulation and implementation of tribal welfare schemes of the state.
- On this occasion, Himani Pandey, secretary of welfare department, Dr. Ramdayal Munda, Director, Tribal Welfare Research Institute, Ranendra Kumar and others were present.
- This Atlas have plates of maps in each section preceded by an introductory text. Jharkhand will be second state to have an atlas of it’s tribal population after Odisha. This map have visuals & statistics highlighting 32 tribal communities of Jharkhand.The tribal atlas will be used in the formation of tribal schemes of the state in future. The Odisha’s tribal atlas was prepared by SC & ST research & training institute in collaboration with the Academy of tribal language & culture.
